North-South Corridor

North-South Corridors comprises a multi-modal analysis of the transnational corridors between Baltic and Adriatic Sea, with a focus on rail. The analysis of network elements refers to its characteristics, e.g. capacities, functions, costs, transport volume as well as an assessment of conflicts and accordances between competing transnational relations.

Further on the spatial effects from existing and future infrastructure developments (scenarios) on the cities / the metropolitan regions will be analysed, based on the application of a regional impact model (accessibility, regional economic effects, shiftable transports).

The North-South Corridors Pilot Project will end with the recommendation of a transnational development strategy for the North-South Corridors backing a GIZ in Central Europe.
